I have a Dearborn plow, 2x14, and the plow shanks are part of the framework of the plow. If I removed one bottom, the shank would still drag the ground and not let the plow go into the dirt. You may have to cut the shank off to get the plow to work as a 1 bottom, and not be able to make it into a 2 bottom again should you want to.
