You can go to the horned statue in Hateno village to exchange them though. You get 100 rupees for a heart container and can then buy a stamina container for 120 rupees. That's what I did once I realized that it's easier to cook food for extra hearts. And I'm only missing 3 hearts so that's easy to get.
Uh I dont know why but I only have 37 hearts I did the bargainer statue quest, all shrines, got the specific armor from it, and the 4 temples + spoiler thing after those and the crisis at hyrule castle quest and beat ganon anyone know why? ive also spent all of my lights of blessings and got 3 bars of stamina.

Having some of the power ups really helps you to get around and get all the shrines. The bird one I'd say is the most useful and easiest to get. There's at least one shrine I can think of you can't even get until after you do the divine beast in the area. Also, hearts are nice, but maxing out your stamina is where it's at.
