Really want the P322, but Sig is not making it for restricted states and no immediate plan to. If I have a local shop pin the barrel and block the mag, I will have no valid warranty from Sig on the P322. If I go the TX22 route (non-competition version) it will not be optic ready.If you do a quick search of the p322 on reddit or YouTube you will quickly see that gun has nothing but problems. I personally just researched the p322 vs the tx22 line up, and I didn't want to risk my luck with the p322 altho that's the one I initially wanted. I ended up buying the TX22 Compact, which was cheaper and probably more reliable.The M&P22 Compact and the TX are made in the U.S., unlike the full-size M&P22 which is made by Walther/Umarex. The Compact is not full-size, unlike the regular M&P, but it's not just a shorter slide or grip - it's scaled down to 75% of the regular model. The M&P Compacts have also had some issue with barrel quality.
