It's kinda like the LKS of DS2: it's not the best at anything (the LKS isn't either) but it's great at everything and has no bad moves (just like LKS). That said, even if the Rapier and Longsword (and Mace too, although mainly in pve) are some of the best weapons in the game, it doesn't mean you shouldn't use whatever is the most fun for you.

Chaos Blade - If you can hold 10 soft humanity this is arguably the best PvE and PvP pure dex weapon in the game. The Gyrm Axe is both the slowest and hardest hitting. The Bandit Axe has no reach and is good in spite of this. I don't care for the moveset of most of the hammers but they're all fine.
