I have found all 34 cores except for the one on the top floor of star control. But for some reason, picking up one of the cores gave me 2 units instead of one. Simply put, I was able to open the display case without having to finish the dlc. If you look at the link I posted it says there are -1 star cores outside the galactic zone.

I somehow interpreted your post as meaning you couldn't find any. xD What 42Sheep said makes more sense if you're just missing the one core. I'll give it a go after work, I REALLY WANT THAT POWER ARMOR. Unless it was patched there is a way to get the armor without the cores.

Fallout respawn code is odd. Just so you know, the Power in the plant isn't accessible until the Power Play quest. This is either after Open Season or else after one of the gangs betrays you.
