We used a 8300 and hydraulics were still demanding at times. 30gpm hydraulics are about the least I think you'd want for it to run normally.
Dec 8, 2005 · Posted December 8, 2005. I ran a 7200 and a 1750 6 row vacuum planter with a 6300 Deere tractor, ran the vacuum off Power Beyond, and the lift and markers were on seperate valves. I have a 1770 12 row now that is pulled with a 7810, vacuum is run on Power Beyond, and lift, fold, and markers on the 3 remotes. The added weight of the planter will work against the corn yield.
Jul 7, 2012 · At the time we were running that planter we pulled it with an 8200 mfwd with 14.9x46" rubber and it wasn't enough tractor or tire in tough conditions. A newer track tractor or something with front duels and 50" rubber would probably handle it fine. Farmington IL. The 1760 is a very simple, depndable planter. Easy to pull, easy to store, easy to maintain. The 1770 will be a very good planter as well. More power to pull, will require a significant amount more hyd capacity, more complicated to maintain BUT its twice as wide. You will be fine either way.

Just my 2 cents, the 1780 is not my favorite bar, when folded it is heavy on the draw bar, when turning on the ends the planter will pick up the weight on the draw bar making it difficult to make turns, will take front wheel assit to pull.
