Acc no contracts are a coin and time sink to control the market injuries would serve that purpose but would also be really bad for gameplay and ruin peoples gameplans by random factors thus making it much less competitive. Injury cards were also coin sinks back in Madden 25.

The IR list is sort of a holding list for injured players you don't want to get rid of, but still want to be able to sign a replacement for them up to the 53 player cap. It's NFL rules.
