The only way I can get it to start is by planting a 100W light bulb on the air intake heater housing for 1-2 hours. Obviously , the electric air intake heater is not working (despite the "glow plug" light on the dash lighting up for 10 seconds, which it does). The housing does NOT heat up. I've replaced the ($155! from a JD dealer) control module.

If the intake air heater is not working you will get a code. Take the nut off the wire (8 or 10 MM socket) and remove it, and start the truck. The check engine light will come on. Was a little disappointed not to see a bump in mpg's, but at least its soot free now. Glad I did it. 08 2500 6.7 auto grey, 5" TBE, mega flow s-3 intake, throttle valve deleted, erg,cooler,ccv and grid heater deleted.
