The vehicle has 188,000 kilometers and the engine is presently running fine with no noticeable noises. Pilot is '10 with 35K miles and engine has used oil since new. Oil is changed every 4-5K with 5-20 Pennzoil dino and Honda filter. Tried using full synthetic but consumption was worse than dino. If nothing else, I'd imagine the carbon build-up under the valve cover could be significant by that point.

I would say that due to the passage of miles that this is not related to the timing belt work.
