The bolt and bolt carrier rides on two guide rods that are equipped with return springs. The guide rods are captured in a rear steel plate. Then you can buy a BRN 180 or a FM-15 upper. For the lower don’t get the BRN specific one that won’t work. Get a mil spec AR15 lower. And when I say mil spec I mean MIL SPEC. No new features like a enclosed trigger guard or ambi this or that.
