DNS Issues on Verizon Fios - Massachusetts. Hello, I am a new Verizon Fios customer and purchased the gateway they offer and am having DNS problems. Sporatic sites will work then stop working. This occurs on multiple devices, wired or wireless even though that shouldn't have an impact. Model: Fios-G1100.

Part of the problem I'm having (other than not being a network guru) is that the Verizon setup instructions for the mode say to use Dynamic PPPoE, which is why the DNS addresses are 0.0.0.0. After tunneling into my company's network through VPN, I was able to set my wireless TCP/IP properties to the DNS addresses given by ipconfig /all.12-31-2010 10:02 AM. I was having problems tracking down the default IP addresses for the FIOS DNS servers and saw others were having the same problem. Finally got them (at least, the ones for Maryland FIOS) and figured I'd post them in case they were of use to others: 4.2.2.1. 4.2.2.2. 4.2.2.3.

I would try the suggestion in the other post as my suspicion is it is a routing issue between the two routers. Orbi router and Verizon router could be using two different DNS servers. If you never changed it the Verizon router is definitely using verizon DNS, and I am not sure what the Orbi would default to.
